Pitso Mosimane is on the verge of being sacked according to Former Al Ahly player and current board member Mohamed Fadl.
Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane got off to a blistering start to life in Egypt after wrapping up the league title, Egyptian Cup title and CAF Champions League titles in quick succession however he finds himself under immense pressure six months into his tenure at the club.
The Kagiso born mentor finds himself under immense pressure and criticism in Egypt after a string of shaky results during recent weeks while reports from Egypt suggest a new coach may arrive soon.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly finished second in their CAF Champions League group behind Tanzania’s Simba SC while two losses and a draw in their last six league matches means rivals Zamalek top the standings albeit with two games in hand.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has since come under fire for recent results and an Egyptian Football Association board member has lashed out at him!
“Pitso Mosimane is a lucky coach and is good during big games only,” Mohamed Fadl said as quoted by KingFut.
“People remember Al Ahly’s performance during the René Weiler era and the achievements of Manuel José only. Mosimane doesn’t yet know the potential of coaching Al Ahly. It is not right to play Walter Bwalya at the expense of Mohamed Sherif.
“Next season Bwalya will probably leave on loan, due to the inability of Mosimane to gradually integrate him into the team. Mosimane’s management of the games is poor. We saw Ghazl El-Mahalla and Al Masry completely dominating their matches against Al Ahly.
“Pitso Mosimane will not continue with Al Ahly and the club will search for a new coach. It’s not information I know, but rather an expectation. Mosimane is not a coach for a team of a size of Al Ahly. They deserve a better coach than him. I predicted Al Ahly’s victory at the last derby, which happened. I hope the Reds will win the next derby.”
