While many fans believe the likes of Floyd Mbele and Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala are abusing their administrative positions by calling the shots at Orlando Pirates, Davids has since set the record straight.
“Coach Mandla and I run all aspects of the football side. That is making decisions together. Both of us are in charge of training, in charge of decision-making, in charge of the line-ups, in charge of substitutes and all football-related issues. That’s a clear understanding of how we are working and taking charge of all technicalities,” – Orlando Pirates coach Fadlu Davids said as quoted by Phakaaathi.
“Orlando Pirates is a team that wants to win every game. We want to be up there which is why this loss to Mamelodi Sundowns is really disappointing to go above Sundowns with a win today (Saturday). Unfortunately we could not get the win, but our objectives are clear. We will take it game-by-game at this moment in time,”
Orlando Pirates currently sit in fifth position on the DStv Premiership log standings. The Buccaneers have picked up eight points from their opening five games.
Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids’ side are next in action over the weekend when they travel to Cape Town to face Cape Town City FC on Saturday afternoon.
