Egyptian Premier League champions, Zamalek, announced that they will play a friendly game against Libyan side Al-Ittihad ahead of their CAF Champions League fixture.
Zamalek are set to face Kenya’s Tusker FC in the round of 32 of the CAF Champions League on Friday, October 15, before hosting them a week later in Cairo.
The White Knights already started their preparations for the game by facing league rivals Pyramids FC in a friendly match, which ended in a goalless draw.
Now the club’s managing director, Montasar El-Ramlawy, confirmed that they will play a second friendly encounter against Libya’s Al-Ittihad one week before traveling to Kenya.
Zamalek will host Al-Ittihad in their training groud at the Abdellatif Aboregela stadium on October 8.
Speaking to the club’s official website, El-Ramlawy also revealed that the team will travel to Kenya on three separate delegations. The first one led by the head of players affairs Ahmed Ibrahim, the head of the medical staff Mohamed Osama and the team’s personal chef will travel on October 10.
The second delegation will travel the following day and will include most of the players and coaching staff. The third and final delegation will include the Egyptian, Tunisian and Moroccan international players coming back from the international break.
