Mozambique former head coach and ex-Liverpool defender Abel Xavier stated that Luis Miquissone will be a difference maker with Al Ahly as he’s very talented player.
Miquissone had joined Al Ahly earlier this summer from Tanzanian giants Simba Sporting Club for a fee of around €850,000 and made his debut in the Egypt Super Cup loss to Tala’a El-Gaish.
Luis then took part in Al Ahly’s clash with ENPPI in the Egypt Cup round of 16, he showed energetic performance and was involved in the winning goal.
Xavier previously coached Miquissone when he was the head coach of Mozambique national team, he recognized his talents early in his career.
In a statement he made to Al Ahly channel, Xavier discussed Miquissone’s potential with the Red Devils.
“I recognized Miquissone’s talents when I was coaching Mozambique, he fills multiple roles on the pitch,” Xavier said.
“He will be a difference maker with Al Ahly, he’s very quick and can play on both wings.
“Miquissone spoke to me before moving to Al Ahly, I encouraged him to move because I believe it is a big step in his career.”
