Partey hails Arsenal attitude after come-back win against Bournemouth
Thomas Partey has hailed Arsenal’s attitude in their stunning 3-2 come-back win over Bournemouth to keep the Gunners’ title dreams alive.
Partey dedicated his goal for Christian Atsu after scoring Arsenal’s opener. It was Saturday the same day Atsu’s One Week Celebration was observed in Ghana’s capital.
A loss would have dent Arsenal’s hopes in the race for the Premier League after Man City’s 2-0 over Newcastle in early kickoff had reduced a Arsenal 5 points lead to only 2.
Matters were worsened at Emirates after Bournemouth took a 2-0 lead with only 30′ minutes remaining for a moment of salvage and the leaders completed a sensational come-back to extend their 5 points lead on the table.
Partey himself started the fight-back after scoring Arsenal’s first goal, Ben White leveled 2-2 before Reiss Nelson grabbed a stoppage time winner for the Gunners.
The victory has shown Arsenal maturity in the Premier League title race this season and Partey believes the fighting spirit in the North London side is very important to their glories so far.
“I think we have been doing this from the beginning,” said the midfielder. “I think everybody is ready to give their best.
“We know we have worked on every aspect. We tried to do our best in every game. At the end, we got the win and that is the most important thing.
“I think it’s another game that we were able to go 2-0 down and then we are able to go up and win the game.
“I think this will raise the spirit of the team and of the fans to keep on supporting. This is the football that we all want to play.
“I think the spirit of never giving up, the belief that we have in the team, the belief that the fans have in us, is pushing us game after game. I think we deserved every win that we had this season.”
Partey has been one of Arsenal’s key performers this season. With 12 games to end the season, Arsenal have to keep their momentum to break a 19-year old Premier League curse.
