Kenya boss Sébastien Migné name Kenya’s squad to face Egypt and Togo in 2021 AFCON qualifiers

As the dates for 2021 AFCON qualifying games get closer, managers release their squad that would represent their countries in upcoming International games on the African continent.

Sébastien Migne is no exception as he has named 25 players to represent the Harambee Stars of Kenya when his country Kenya take on Egypt and Togo this month in the qualifying stages of 2021 AFCON to be held in Cameroon.

Top players Victor Wanyama, Patrick Matasi, Joash Onyango, Lawrence Juma, Samuel Olwande and John Mark Makwatta were all included in Migne’s squad.

Experienced John Avire who was part of the Kenya squad in the just ended AFCON tournament in Egypt, but has been out of club football for some time now due to his transfer tussle to Egypt has been called up.

However, Farouk Shikalo who joined Young Africans some months ago to keep the posts for Yanga was dropped. Ulinzi Stars Enosh Ochieng, the top marksman last season and who was in the squad for Stars’ last friendly encounter against Mozambique has been omitted, but only on fitness basis.

Kenya participated in Egypt 2019 AFCON where they failed to make out qualification in group C. Migne’s side will begin their search for a spot in the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon with tricky opener against Egypt on 14th this month before they host Togo five days later at the Moi Stadium, Kasarani.
