Hearts management holds meeting over Samuel Boadu amid sacking head coach

The latest meeting by Hearts of Oak management means confident has been instilled in boss Samuel Boadu and the tactician will continue with his job.

It is being reported that management of Accra Hearts of Oak have held a meeting over the future of head coach Samuel Boadu.

The future of coach Boadu has become a major issue following Hearts of Oak’s exit from the 2021/2022 CAF inter-club competitions.

Hearts fell into the CAF Confederations Cup after being knocked out by Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in 7-2 two-game thrashing.

In the Confederation Cup, the Phobians fell on the sword of Algerian side JS Saroua) that humiliated them 4-0 on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Hearts walked into the second leg with a 2-0 advantage from first leg game in Accra.

Following the defeat on Sunday, December 5, 2021, the management of Hearts of Oak, according to online portal 442gh met on to take a decision on Boadu’s future.

The decision from the meeting, as per the report is that management still believe in Boadu to turn things around for the club.

Hearts’ performance in continental assignment is not different from their domestic form this season.

The Premier League champions are struggling to replicate last season’s form with no victory recorded in their opening five Ghana Premier League games.

Hearts have lost two and drawn three of their games and are currently in a relegation brawl with a match to spare.

It is expected that the return of Gladson Awako to their fold will help turn things around for the Phobians. The new signing returned from illness a couple of days Hearts travelled to Algeria.

He could have made the trip to the Northern land but Salifu Ibrahim’s recovery to full fitness hampered Awako’s chances of making cut to Saoura. The two players were battling for a space for the Algerian trip but Salifu Ibrahim who has been Hearts best player so far got the nod.

Ibrahim sustained injury against Saoura in the first leg. Should he failed to recover, Awako would have replaced him for the Algerian journey.

The Ghana Premier League side scored a total 6 goals and conceded 10 goals in their this season’s African campaign.

They never conceded at home against any of their opponents which is a good record for the Ghanaian side. They managed to score away when Patrick Razak scored in 6-1 humiliation by Wydad Casablanca in Caf Champions League first round second leg in Mohamed V Stadium.
