Nigeria can beat Ghana in Cape Coast and Abuja if… – US-based coach

A US-based Nigerian Anthony Ushurhe believes commitment is key and can ensure that Super Eagles achieve their target of beating Black Stars in the 2022 World Cup playoff.

The two West African giants are set to meet twice this month with a spot in Qatar up for grabs. The first meeting is scheduled for Cape Coast on March 25 with the return leg four days later in Abuja.

“I have nothing much to say about the World Cup qualifying match between Ghana and Nigeria but the only thing I can point out is that Nigeria can beat Ghana in Cape Coast and Abuja if the players show enough commitment on the field of play.

“Secondly, I watched their matches at the last AFCON in Cameroon and I was impressed with the teamwork of the players. I think if they can continue in this direction, Nigeria stands the chance to qualify for the world cup stage,” he said.

Commenting on the squad coach Eguaveon released recently, the coach said he has no objection over the list saying that the coach knows the players that are good and fit for the games.

“I don’t like to object team list of any national team coach. The coach knows the best and he knows the best for the country. All I know is that we can be in Qatar if our players show enough commitment and play like a team against Ghana,” he said.
