Mostafa Mohamed continues splendid form at GALATASARAY after netting brace against Erzurum BB

Mostafa Mohamed has continued his ridiculous start to life in Turkey with a brace for Galatasaray against Erzurum BB on Saturday.

Mohamed joined Galatasaray on a one-and-a-half loan deal from Zamalek and hit the ground running in the Turkish Super Lig.

Following an impressive start which saw him score four goals in his opening five games, Mohamed’s goalscoring run stopped against Alanyaspor last week

However, he compensated for that with his first brace in Turkey as he led Galatasaray to a 2-0 home victory over Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor.

The first strike came in the 38th minute when he turned in Henry Onyekuru’s header which was saved by the keeper with a powerful shot.

Seconds before the half-time whistle, Mohamed doubled his side’s lead when he found himself through on goal following a pass from Christian Luyindama, before easily finding the back of the net.

The Egypt international has now six goals in six games with Galatasaray, becoming the club’s third top goalscorer this season just behind Younès Belhanda [eight] and current West Brom striker Mbaye Diagne [11].

In the 79th minute, Mostafa picked up his first yellow card since moving abroad following a rough tackle, six minutes before he was replaced by Falcao.

The victory has kept Galatasaray top of the table with 57 points, three ahead Besiktas, who still have a game in hand against Karim Hafez’s Yeni Malatyaspor.

Mostafa will hope to carry on this form when his side travel to face bottom-placed Ankaragucu, who have Al Ahly loanee Aliou Badji, on March 3.
