Liverpool have decided not to hijack Chelsea’s move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner

Chelsea look destine to have a breakthrough in completing a surprise move for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig after striker agreeing to make Stamford Bridge his next home.

Liverpool were clear favorites to land Werner and least was expected any team including Chelsea would beat them to the signing of the German goal-poacher after fancying both the Reds and their boss Klopp.

However, Chelsea have agreed to active the player £50million release clause and the 24-year old striker would be offered a five-year contract in a deal that would make him the highest-paid player at Chelsea- worth £200,000-a-week.

There was a growing suggestion that Liverpool would hijack Werner’s move to Chelsea by submitting a counter bid to Leipzig but the Reds have decided not to hijack the transfer of the Bundesliga forward as claimed in the Daily Express.

It’s understood that Frank Lampard spoke with Werner himself and influenced the player’s decision as Liverpool were caught stalling decision to go in for a player who has heart for them.

The Chelsea manager promised him a regular football something the was not guarantee at Liverpool due to the presence of Klopp’s preferred Mane, Salah and Firmino combination was is understood that the former Dortmund boss is not ready to break that combination.
