Liverpool edge closer to completing £11.75million transfer for Olympiakos left-back Kostas Tsimikas

Anfield could be set for a new arrival in the coming days, with Liverpool closing in on a deal for Greek defender Kostas Tsimikas.

The 24-year-old was part of the Olympiakos side who held Tottenham Hotspur to a draw in this season’s Champions League and went on to eliminate Arsenal from the Europa League.

He is set to be competition for Andy Robertson at left-back and an £11.75 million fee is said to have been settled upon with talks at an advanced stage.

This comes after Liverpool put to bed their interest in Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis whose price-tag was deemed too high at £20 million.

Liverpool are on the verge of agreeing personnel terms with the player with no difficulties expected to hamper chances of landing the high in demand at Anfield defender, that’s according to Standard Sport.

However, agreement between the Reds and Olympiakos worth £11.75million is already in place as Liverpool are expected to confirm the deal this week.

Leicester City were reportedly eyeing to sign him as replacement for Ben Chilwell that is when Chelsea are able to take the Three Lion defender away from the King Power Stadium.
