Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid confirmed lineups, Champions League 1/16 second leg

Liverpool welcome Atletico Madrid to Anfield this evening hoping to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the Champions League first knockout round.

Saul Niguez scored the only goal of the game at the Wanda Metropolitano last month leaving Jurgen Klopp and his side with a fightback required to continue the defence of their crown.

Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri – plus long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne – will miss the game through injury but Jordan Henderson returns for the first time since the showdown in Madrid. Andy Robertson is also likely to start.

Klopp watched his side overcome Bournemouth 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday while Atletico drew 2-2 with Sevilla.

The Liverpool boss makes a single change from the first leg with Oxlade-Chamberlain replacing Fabinho in midfield. Diego Simeone makes three changes, Trippier, Diego Costa and Portugal sensation Joao Felix come in for Vrsaljko, Lemar and Alvaro Morata respectively.

Liverpool XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Subs: Lonergan, Fabinho, Milner, Minamino, Lallana, Origi, Matip.

Atletico Madrid XI: Oblak, Trippier, Savic, Felipe, Renan Lodi, Koke, Saul Niguez, Thomas, Correa; Diego Costa, Joao Felix
