Christian Pulisic move from Chelsea to AC Milan announced as American signs 4-year deal
Christian Pulisic has completed a pending transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan in a deal worth €20million, Chelsea have announced on Thursday.
“Christian Pulisic has left Chelsea after four years and completed a permanent transfer to AC Milan.
“The 24-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2019 having agreed to join the Blues from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the year. He made an early impact with an assist in the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool before announcing himself on the Premier League stage against Burnley.
“Pulisic scored a hat-trick at Turf Moor, becoming only the second American to achieve that feat in the English top flight. He ended his debut campaign – which was disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic – in sparkling form and played a key role in ensuring Chelsea finished in the Premier League top four.”
Pulisic is one of the players that was tipped to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after Chelsea primed overhauling a bloated squad- major requirement by new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Chelsea and Milan have involved in talks over a deal for the American International in the past weeks.
Chelsea agreed a deal with the Serie A side for Pulisic this early week and the forward arrived in Milan on Wednesday to seal his move by first signing a four-year deal at Milan before undergoing mandatory medicals ahead of resume to preseason.
Pulisic’s latest move ends his four years underwhelming campaign at Chelsea and will reunite with former teammates Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who joined Milan last month.
Pulisic joined Chelsea in £57.6million deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 and impressed in his debut season of 2019-2020 scoring 9 goals in 25 Premier League games.
Pulisic was linked with Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United and Inter Milan were also interest in the 24-year old.
Pulisic will wear the no.11 shirt at San Ziro in coming new season.
