Manchester United scout Allegri as replacement for misfiring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United could sack boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if the Norwegian continues to guide the Red Devils to current Premier League results according to reports.

United appointed Ole last two seasons amid a relief on a vacancy left over by the exit of Jose Mourinho. The Norwegian International achieved Champions League football and reached semifinals of Europa League last season.

United’s results in start of the 2020/2021 season has been unimpressive and Ole is the immediate to be pointed fingers at.

This throws the 47-year old’s future at Manchester United into serious doubt. United are two places away from the relegation zone, only above 17th placed West Brom- who have just a point on the league log per standing so far.

Ole’s side have won once of their three Premier League opening games though they have one appearance to make before they catch-up with the total number of games played.

It’s understood that Ole has always had the support of United officials but Tottenham’s heavy defeat prior to the International break has caused the club’s hierarchy to rethink about Norwegian’s future.

According to reports, the Reds bosses would sack Ole if the 2008 Champions League winners continue their poor run of form after the International break.

With rumours circulating on Thursday, Massimiliano Allegri is in the frame to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United permanent manager, claimed by The Express.

But former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is first in line if Solskjaer is fired. Allegri left Juve in May 2019 after being replaced by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

Pochettino was also sacked 6 months later after Allegri’s exit at Turin. Both managers have been linked with United’s job but the former Tottenham boss looks favorite to be appointed if Ole is sacked.
