Chelsea move for Philippe Coutinho officially begins as Blues contact Brazilian and Barcelona

Chelsea knee strengthening their squad in summer despite coronavirus outbreak slowing down many football events in the world. They have been linked with a couple of players in past few day, and Philippe Coutinho is the latest to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Spanish publication Sport claim that Chelsea have already contacted Barcelona in a bid to weight an immediate loan move for the Brazilian in the summer transfer window but with option to buy permanently.

Coutinho is already living a loan life in the German BundesLiga after completing a season long loan move worth €8.5million from Barcelona to Bayern Munich in August 2019.

The Brazilian has struggled since departing Anfield and his struggling woes has continued at the Allianz Arena. Bayern are reported not to extent his stay on permanent basis due to the £110million price tag which the German outfits consider excessive in relation to the low standard Coutinho has shown in the club so far.

Bayern’s stand on the Coutinho’s future (not buying him) will put the former Anfield boy in the train back to Camp Nou where Barcelona would have the option to sell him permanently, which doesn’t look likely due to no club willing to pay Barca’s €100milion asking price, or introduce another loan proposal for the 27-year-old.

Sport  have reported that Chelsea have emerged to offer a loan move for Coutinho where Frank Lampard’s side have not only contacted Barcelona their stands on agreeing to loan them the Brazilian but have also inquire from Coutinho himself to embark on a second loan move which would be to Stamford Bridge.

It remains unclear whether Barcelona issued any feedback to the London side but Futball Surgery can confirm that Barcelona’s decision to accept Chelsea’s proposal will be based on in consultation with Coutinho whether he may prefers a loan move back to the Premier League and precisely Stamford Bridge.

If this option fails, the playmaker could be involved in Neymar’s transfer to lower the price they have to pay PSG for the signature of the latest, or in a deal for Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte meanwhile is already looking at replacement for laon man Stefano Sensi who has been tipped to go back to Sassuolo at the end of the season, and Conte eyes Coutinho as a potential Sensi replacement.
