Manchester City set to beat Napoli for Fabian Ruiz after ‘opened talks’ with Spaniard

Manchester City have opened talks with Fabian Ruiz and more transfer gossip. Manchester City have ‘opened talks’ with Napoli over the possibility of signing midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

That is according to Don Balon who report that Ruiz’s representatives are talking to the Blues over a potential move to the Etihad for their client and it’s suggested that Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the versatile 25-year-old Spanish midfielder.

Ruiz, who joined Napoli three years ago, has since made 127 appearances for the Italian club over three seasons and he looks set to play an important role in Spain’s upcoming European Championship campaign this summer under coach Luis Enrique.

The article claims Ruiz has previously attracted interest from La Liga’s elite clubs, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but with those sides failing to make a move, it’s said he has now opened discussions elsewhere, including with City.

Elsewhere, City might have received a transfer boost in their search for a new centre-forward this summer, with Harry Kane breaking his silence amid links to the Blues – the Tottenham star has admitted he needs an ‘honest conversation’ with Daniel Levy.

“I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club. Yeah, like you say, I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments,” Kane said to Gary Neville on The Overlap.

“I want to be in them games [Champions League]. So for sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to kind of reflect and see where I’m at and have a good, honest conversation with the chairman. I hope that we can have that conversation.

“I’m sure that he’ll want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career this moment in time.”
