Theory that Liverpool’s chances of signing Kylian Mbappe depend on two Real Madrid stars

Undoubtedly, Liverpool may definitely enter into the summer transfer market for reinforcement for their current squad with a deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe one that the Premier League outfit will be hoping to complete.

Liverpool’s interest in Mbappe comes in when the French International has eventually risen to prominence in world football over the past four seasons helping France to 2018 FIFA World Cup glory and winning several domestic luxuries with French Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Mbappe’s escalating performances at Parc de Prices have earned him a big-seize attraction from European elite clubs. Despite a reported interest from Chelsea, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Laliga side Real Madrid and Klopp’s Liverpool are believed the two favorites for the French’s signature.

Real Madrid have a heavy wage bill dominated by old names and the Los Blancos have already planned to overhaul its squad to ease conditions for new additions. According to reports in AS, Marca, Football Espana and various outlets in England, Real Madrid’s transfer plan for next term consist of a move for Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid attempted with a deal for Mbappe, 22, in summer 2019 but failed to meet PSG asking price of £145million for the winger with the price understood to be strategy to fend off the Laliga outfit from their star.

Madrid then swerved to complete £100million transfer of Eden Hazard from Chelsea but the Belgian ace has never lived up to expectation since his arrival in the Spanish capital.

As at that time, Real Madrid was the sole pursuant of the French International in broad daylight sense but Liverpool nearly signed Mbappe before joining powerhouse PSG from Monaco in 2017

Liverpool through club owner John Henry is believed held talks with the 22-year old at Monaco but Mbappe later completed a season-long loan move to PSG. The L’Equipe has revealed that Liverpool left a big impression on Mbappe that they would one day come for him irrespective of where he would be playing and that time appears to be this summer.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Liverpool are back in the mix for Mbappe’s signature. That comes with the Franch’s recent eye-catching performance against Barcelona in the Champions League.

The 22-year old grabbed a hat-trick across 90-mintes of football at the Camp Nou and run away with the Man-Of-The-Match award.

The report in the L’Equipe also revealed Mbappe’s previous comments praising Liverpool’s style of play and boss Jurgen Klopp.

However, Liverpool’s chances of signing the French now depend on two stars at Real Madrid, Eden Hazard and Isco who both futures at Bernabeu remain doubtful. Although Madrid will not sell the former Chelsea man, Zidane could leave out the play-maker on the bench next season if his current unimpressive campaign continues like that.

And if Hazard goes to the bench Madrid will need a superstar on the pitch, that is where a deal for Mbappe becomes ideal for Florentino Pérez who is fond of catching all the big fishes in transfer markets.

With catching big fishes in mind ahead of summer, Real Madrid are planning to offload a number of senior members in order to generate fund and free space for new additions including Mbappe.

While the departure of Luka Modric, Lucas Vázquez- (due to his utility), Toni Kross and Marino Diaz would not impact Real Madrid bringing in Mabppe, Isco situation may have large impact because he is regarded a starter which if Mbappe comes in he will have to, whether directly or indirectly, compete with Isco for starting position in the front line.

Isco is aging (28-years old now) managing 15 league appearances out of 24 Laliga games in his injury-prone campaign. Mbappe can be straight up against Vinicius Jr., Diaz and Vázquez  when the need for a  choice upfront arises.

However, against the likes of Hazard, Asensio and Isco is simply not straight forward, And while Mbappe can start in a game along with Hazard (wide) and Asensio (middle) in 3 attacking men of the 4-2-3-1 system, Isco and Mbappe will compete for the remaining wide position. Isco’s presence could be a bit of distraction to Mbappe’s progress at Santiago Bernabeu.

And Madrid may attempt to avoid such distraction while ready to cash in on Spaniard end of this season. Isco leaving Real Madrid will also depend on finding buyer for the 28-year old.

If Real Madrid fail to find buyer for the 28-year old they would not launch audacious bid to bring in Mbappe. Hazard on the other hand has had low campaign since his arrival and if the story continues the Bernabeu giants will increase momentum for Mbappe’s transfer.

Madrid finding buyer of Isco would not be a difficult task with Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus already interested in the Spaniard revealed the Marca.

With Chelsea now prioritizing strengthening their defense instead of attacking areas, Isco’s move to West London looks very unlikely next season. And even if Tuchel will add attacking men they would consider more younger ages than the Real Madrid man.

These give Arsenal a huge boost in Isco whose current contract runs out at the end of next season. The winger has been linked with a move to the Gunners in the last two transfer windows but Isco may prefer finishing his contract and leave free. Meaning he will remain at Bernabeu next season which could prevent Mbappe coming and a bid plus for Liverpool.

Isco joined Real Madrid in July 2013 and has helped the Los Blancos win 16 titles including four Champions League trophies over his 8-year period in Madrid.

Most Liverpool fans will also pray Hazard becomes injury free and rediscover his Chelsea form at Madrid because in such way, Los Blancos will reportedly not sign Mbappe for any big-money- which PSG have already demand for the French’s signature.

However, the former Champions League winners will sign Mbappe only if PSG reduced their asking price in thus irrespective of situations of Isco and Hazard.

Given Isco willing stay next season and to play out his contract, so as Hazard- whose worst position at Real Madrid next term would be the bench instead of leaving, Madrid’s move for Mbappe this summer is highly unlikely especially when PSG may demand huge sum of money for the World Cup winner.

Withstanding this development, Liverpool who are Real Madrid’s direct rivals for Mbappe may have boosted chance of completing a move for the PSG winger.

Liverpool already have Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as direct opposition for Mbappe at Anfield. However, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly have special plans for Mbappe when he moves to Liverpool at the end of the season.

It’s understood that should Mbappe joins the Reds Firmino would be sacrificed where either Salah or Mane will be deploy as a false 9 whiles Mbappe plays out wide the other wide area.

On PSG asking price, Liverpool owner John Henry may be ready to meet the price to bring in Mbappe for next term. But the biggest problem as revealed in caughtoffside is for PSG to decide selling Mbappe.

The French International has a season left on his contract and while he is willing to find different challenge (at Liverpool), PSG are hoping to offer Mbappe a new long contract.
