Liverpool preparing a club record fee of €90 million to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona in summer

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are preparing to lure Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona that may worth €90 million (£80.5m) during the time the summer transfer window opens.

Liverpool continue to be linked with big name players in world football and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele is the latest player among a host associated with a move to Anfield this summer.

Boss Jurgen Klopp knee finding competitors for his wide men up front, thus, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah who have been two brightest players since the arrival of the German tactician in Merseyside.

As the Reds continue climbing the success ladder, the higher competition they come across and the more quality players they need to keep the going smooth to be able to hold consistency in their performance.

And Dembele is considered by Klopp as a perfect competitor on either side of the attacking wide areas controlled by Mane and Salah.

Diario Sport now claim that Barcelona have run into financial problems due to the covid-19 pandemic and are froced to consider selling the French International who haven’t live up to expectations at Camp Nou since his €105million arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

The valuation Barca have slapped on Dembele is around €95million, and Liverpool is ready to splash the cash on 22-year-old’s transfer by readying to offer Barcelona €90 million (£80.5m), which would be a club record fee.

Dembele has spent three years at Barcelona since his move from Dortmund in 2017 and still have two more additional years on his contract.

In order for Barcelona not to find themselves in a situation where they would be forced to sell the winger for a cheaper price, the Laliga league leaders will consider selling the former Dortmund ace to bolster their financial state- affected by coronavirus outbreak.
