Asante Kotoko drew goalless with Bofoakwa Tano in friendly ahead of return of Ghana Premier League

The Porcupine Warriors wrapped up their preparations for the return of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season with a thrilling stalemate with Bofoakwa Tano on Sunday afternoon.

Asante Kotoko engaged the Division One League side in a friendly to keep the team in shape for their Ghana Premier League title defense campaign.

Bofoakwa Tano welcomed the Ghanaian giants to the city of Sunyani for friendly which attracted fans from all walks of life to the Coronation Park.
Coach Seydou Zerbo named a strong team for the game which featured notable starters like Steven Mukwala, Justice Blay, Georges Mfegue Omgba, Richard Boadu, Yussif Mubarik and Richmond Lamptey.
The home side were resolute at the back as they dealt with the early threats from Mukwala and Mfegue to keep them game scoreless in the first half.
In the second half, Bofoakwa Tano came close to open the score but the back line of Asante Kotoko intelligently denied them from causing any havoc.
Coach Zerbo introduced Dickson Afoakwa, Samuel Boateng, Ernest Osei Poku and Enoch Morrison in the last ten minutes of the fixture but their inclusion couldn’t earn Asante Kotoko any positive result as the game ended in a 0-0 draw at Sunyani Coronation Park.
The defending league champions will welcome Berekum Chelsea to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when the Ghana Premier League resumed on 19th December.
