Asante Kotoko in advanced talks to sign Uganda International Stephen Dese Mukwala

Asante Kotoko SC are in advanced stage of negotiations with Ugandan International Stephen Dese Mukwala ahead of a summer transfer.

That’s according to Ghana Soccer Net who claims that the Ghana Premier League outfit are close to completing a summer move for the Vipers forward.

Uganda side Vipers loaned the 21-year-old to Maroons FC last season and netted 13 league goals in 23 appearances to emerge top scorer of the Uganda Premier League.

Mukwala’s goals couldn’t save Maroons from relegation after placing 14th in a 16-team league. The 21-year old could have returned to Vipers for next season, however, the Ugandan Premier League champions are ready to cash in on the youngster according to close sources.

And Kumasi based side Kotoko are very likely to land the Ugandan International ahead of competitors. The 2-time CAF Champions League winners have already captured Emmanuel Keyekeh from Karela United and Yussif Mubarik on a free transfer.

They are also reportedly in talks with former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan to bring the veteran to the Baba Yara Stadium this summer.

Having set insight strengthening their squad with much emphasis on International players for the 2020/2021 season, Mukwala appears the latest player on Kotoko’s transfer list.

The Ghanaian club face competition from Kampala City Council for Mukwala’s signature.
