Asante Kotoko planning double swoop deals in Songne Yacouba and Victorien Adebayor for African Inter Club competitions 

Ghana Premier League outfits Asante Kotoko are planning to sign former striker Songne Yacouba and Victorien Adebayor to bolster their attack for Africa Inter Club competitions next season.

The cancellation of the Ghana Premier League last Tuesday has given the Ghana giants the nod to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.

Ahead of their task in Africa, the Kumasi based side are planning to improve their current squad especially their attacking department- that somehow lack the potency to compete at the highest level of African football.

The Porcupine’s strikers produced not more than 5 goals In the cancelled Ghana Premier League season, and precisely among William Opoku Menseh, Naby Keita and Richard Arthur combined reached a total of 3 goals in the league.

Victorien Adebayor and Songne Yacouba have been identified to reinforce the Porcupine’s misfiring attacking line.

Adebayor has attracted surprise attention in the Ghana Premier League this season from Hearts of Oak, Medeam SC, Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities Football Club since his arrival from AS des Gendarmerie Nationale Nigérienne in 2018.

He has become a house hold name in the current season netting impressive 12 goals and assist in 13 league games before cancellation of the 2019-2020 season.

Meanwhile, the recently appointed new board of directors at Kotoko has been tasked to restore the Ghana’s lost continental glory.

Kotoko could beat their rivals to the signing of Adebayor to enhance achieving their task. However, as it stands, Kotoko have been hit with a year transfer ban by life patron Otumfou Osei Tutu II.

And the club’s board may reportedly appeal to the Manhyia Palace in a bid to sign Adebayor and Yacouba for the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League season Futball Surgery exclusively report.

Kotoko are ready to meet Inter Allies’ asking price for the Niger International- who still has two years on his contract at Allies.

Meanwhile, Yacouba just left Kotoko February this year after the Burkina International’s contract expired. His aftermath move to Memelodi Sundowns, Simba SC and Young Africans failed and could return back to the Ghana Premier League giants.

The Burkina International, 28 now, first coming to Kotoko has been regarded a successful one, emerging as one of the club’s main source of goals between 2018 and 2020.

He led the 2018-2019 CAF Confederation Cup most assists chat with 5-time assists and scoring two goals in the competition against Al Hilal Omdurman and Nkana Red Devils from Zambia thought Kotoko were hammered 3-1 at the Nkana Stadium.
