Ivorian side San Pedro sack former ASEC Mimosas manager Amani Yao Lambert following club’s poor results

Yao Amani replaced Jani Tarek at San Pedro after the latter had guided the Ivorian outfits to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cop but stepped down later.

Amani, former coach of ASEC Mimosas has struggled to find the perfect rhythm at San Pedro where he failed to record a win before his sack.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, he led his side to a winless run in three outings after drawing the first game against Algerian side Paradou and lost to Nigerian giants Enyimba International before picking another home draw against Hassania Agadir from Morocco last Sunday.

Domestically, Yao’s last three games for San Pedro have all ended in direct opposite of win, losing 3-0 to Racing d’Abidjan, 2-1 to Issia Wazi and 2-0 at home to Bassam just yesterday.

San Pedro have terminated Yao’s contract following his poor results ever since joining the club early December 2019. The Confederation Cup campaigners sit last with just two points in Group D of the Confederation Cup.

San Pedro are also  8th on domestic table, managing only 5 victories in 12 league games.

The Ivorians could have turn back to their former boss Tarek, but the Tunisian trainer has set his eyes on the job at Hearts of Oak.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian giants parted ways with Kim Grant early this week, and knee appointing Jani Tarek as the long term replacement for Grant, and talks between Hearts and Tarek are ongoing.
