Kaizer Chiefs to offer Lebogang Manyama new contract extension

KAIZER CHIEFS have performed incredibly well this season as the Glamour Boys hunt for their first ABSA Premiership title since 2014-2015 season.

They have failed to collect all three points in only 7 games out of a total of 22 matches placing them at first on the ABSA Premiership table with 48 points.

There is one man Chiefs cannot take out of their superb form so far this season, and that is Lebogang Manyama who has be a consistent performer for the league leaders, only falling behind Daniel Cardoso in the most minutes played pegging order, Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty (1, 980) minutes for Cardoso compared to the former Cape Town City star’s Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Eight minutes (1, 878) minutes.

Manyama has failed to appear only ones in Chiefs’ 22 games in the Premiership and provided more assists than any other Chiefs player (9), and found back of the net seven times in 26 outings across all competitions before the season was halted due to coronavirus crisis in South Africa.

Chiefs are now preparing to offer the star midfielder a new long term contract due to his proving vitality at the Glamour Boys.

Meanwhile, the league leaders are serving a two transfer window ban imposed by FIFA two months ago over the signing of Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana from Fosa Juniors in 2018 and view a new deal for Manyama, 29, as ideal to maintaining the quality level during the period they cannot sign reinforcements.

The South African giants could offer a new deal to the former Cape Town midfielder before the start of next season as claimed by Soccer Laduma.

The 29-year-old joined Kaizer Chiefs from Konyaspor in August 2018 and his current contract at Chiefs runs out summer 2021. He could be offered not less than a year contract extension at current club.
