Ten Hag is planning another raid on Ajax after targeting Mohammed Kudus

Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning another raid on former club Ajax with the Man United boss said to be targeting Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus.

The Red Devils coach signed the 22-year-old attacker from FC Nordsjaelland in 2020 and he is on his list of summer targets, according to talkSPORT.

The Dutchman, 53, has already poached defender Lisandro Martinez and Brazilian winger Antony from Ajax.

United are also said to be ‘confident’ they can make a stunning move for Harry Kane.

The 30-year-old’s contract at Tottenham Hotspur is set to expire in the summer of 2024.

The Sun have now reported that United are growing in confidence they can land Kane this summer, if they fail to obtain a top-four spot.

It’s said they feel that Spurs will lower their £100m asking price if Tottenham aren’t playing in Europe’s elite competition next season.

United’s camp are also said to be encouraged by a response they received, after contacting Kane’s camp through a third party.

It comes after United were left stunned by Liverpool at Anfield who enforced an embarrassing 7-0 loss on the Old Trafford outfit just a week on from winning the Carabao Cup.

Ten Hag’s side were only a goal down at the end of a solid first-half showing but conceded six in a second-half collapse that the manager called ‘unprofessional’.

He said: ‘The result is quite obvious. It’s unprofessional. We were so unprofessional about decisions… moving forward, giving the space away in the back, in the midfield, not tracking back… then it’s 3-0, then the game goes.

‘But then, as a team, you have to stick together. And that is what we didn’t do. And that was a surprise for me.

‘I haven’t seen this from my team. I don’t think it’s Manchester United. So it’s really bad and poor.’

Ten Hag said they played a ‘decent’ first half but things turned bad after halftime.

‘They didn’t co-operate any more together, and they didn’t fulfil their jobs,’ he said. ‘There are many things… it makes me angry, to concede so easily goals.’

Ten Hag said United, who host Real Betis in the first leg of a Europa League round-of-16 match on Thursday, needed to learn from the loss.

‘We had so many good results in the last week, months. So many good performances. And this was a really bad performance.’
