CAF Inter Club semifinals suffer indefinite suspension due to coronavirus crisis in Africa
The Semifinals of CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup have suffered indefinite suspension due to the coronavirus crisis that has affected all football activities in the world.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the indefinite suspension on Saturday morning to terminate the semifinals of its Inter Club competitions and FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers to be played by CAF members previously scheduled early and middle of May respectively.

“In light of growing concerns and evolving nature on COVID-19 amidst lockdown in most countries, the CAF Emergency Committee has decided to postpone the following matches until further notice.”
“Total CAF Champions league and Total CAF Confederation Cup Semi- final matches: Both legs scheduled for the 1-3 May & 8-10 May 2020.”
“FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup Qualifiers: Initially scheduled for 1-3 May and 15-17 May 2020.”A new schedule will be announced in due time.
“Meanwhile, CAF is monitoring the situation closely and working with the relevant authorities such as the Wealth Health Organization (WHO) on the impact of the virus on the continent.”
In the semifinals, Egyptian duo Zamalek and Ahly take on Morocco’s Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca respectively in the Champions League.
Whilst Pyramids face Guinean side Horoya Athletic Club and RS Berkane meet Hassania Agadir in the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
