Maxwell Konadu offers Augustine Sefa a lifeline at Kotoko, contract extension on the card

Newly appointed boss Maxwell Konadu has offered right-back Augustine Sefa a lifeline at Asante Kotoko after asking the player to resume training sessions on Wednesday.

The right back was on the verge of exiting Kotoko after the management of the Ghanaian champions failed to agree for the extension of Sefa’s stay, which the defender’s contract expired this month.

The right full back was integral member of C.K Akunnor’s team that reached the group stages of the 2018-2019 CAF Confederation but only saw his playing time limited under Kjetil Zachariassen, failing to register a single appearance for Kotoko in their recent CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns.

It is believed that new boss Maxwell primes the qualities of Sefa, and would count on his experience to achieve his targets at the club. Maxwell asked his big bosses to allow the right-back resume training on Wednesday.
