Al Ahly interest in Jackson Muleka confirmed amid beating European clubs to the signing of young African prospect

Ahly’s interest in TP Mazembe forward Jackson Muleka confirmed by player’s agent Nicolas Morelli in a bid to land the young striker this summer.

“There’s no official offer from Al Ahly yet, but we’re in contact with the club and they have expressed interest in signing Muleka” Nicolas Morelli told Al-Nahar TV channel.

“If Zamalek made an offer for the player, it’s not up to me to decide if Muleka goes to Al Ahly or Zamalek.

“For me, Al Ahly are one of the biggest clubs in the continent just like Real Madrid or Juventus [in Europe].

“Muleka has plenty of offers from France, Belgium, Turkey, and Portugal. His priority is a club where he can play regularly,” he added.

Muleka has finally risen to prominence at TP Mazembe after breaking through from club’s youth system. This season alone, his escalating form has caused much interest from both clubs on the African continent and Europe.

According to French Football report last month, RC Lens who have gained abrupt promotion to French top flight football league after the unexpected cancellation of the season due to coronavirus pandemic failed to sign the 20-year striker due to Muleka’s asking price.

And that paved way for African power house Al Ahly to enter into the race for Muleka however, ESPN journalist Anthony Pla claimed last month that Egyptian giants’ $2.5million offer was rejected by Mazembe president Moïse Katumbi- who was only interested in taking the striker to Europe amid avoiding selling the striker to CAF Champions League rivals.

According to latest reports, Zamalek and Ahly are prepared to offer the Ravens improved bid for Muleka where he been valued $3million by the Dr Congo giants.

It is understood that Katumbi may now consider selling the Dr Congo International to competitors once they meet Muleka’s price, and Ahly are reportedly ready to meet the price ahead of Turkish and Portuguese clubs.

The 20-year-old has found back of the net 14 times and provided four assists in 31 games across all competitions this season.
