CAF postpone Al Ahly’s Champions League game against Etoile Sportive de Sahel

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have postponed Al Ahly’s match against Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptians were set to take on Etoile du Sahel from Tunisia on 24 January in Match Day 5 of the CAF Champions League in Egypt.

However, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) filed a request to CAF to postpone the game due to security concerns ahead of the ninth anniversary of the 25 January revolution.

Following the EFA’s request, CAF have decided to postpone the encounter to 26 January at the El-Salam Stadium in Cairo.

Al Ahly are currently second in Group B with seven points, two points behind leaders Etoile du Sahel.

Ahly will be hoping to take a sweet revenge against Etoile having seen Garrido’s men stealing the first leg encounter in Tunisia with a 1-0 victory over Al Ahly.
