Kaizer Chiefs Lebogang Manyama together with seven others miss PSL 2020/20201 season opene

Kaizer Chiefs lost last season’s PSL title to Mamelodi Sundows on last round of matches and begin a title challenge against against the Brazilian.

The South African Premier League for 2020/2021 term start late this month and will be without two of their key players.

Amakhosi  play-maker Lebogang Manyama is among eight stars unavailable for selection for the 2020/21 season openers for their respective teams.

Manyama will be a huge miss for coach Gavin Hunt’s Amakhosi debut when they host Maritzburg United on Sunday as he still holds a one-match suspension from last season.

The Bafana Bafana man played a crucial role in Chiefs’ title-push in the 2019/20 campaign and is expected to form an integral part of Hunt’s attacking system.

Kwanda Mngonyama will be unavailable for the Team of Choice as Eric Tinkler’s side will be aiming for a big upset against their illustrious opposition while Innocent Maela also still has one game remaining before he can return to Orlando Pirates starting line-up.

Pirates host Cape Town City at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening for an enticing encounter as the new-look Buccaneers squad face up to one of their hoodoo teams in recent times.
