Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu admits his club is not in good shape but vows to take Kotoko to the level they desire

Maxwell Konadu has expressed his fair idea about his current club Asante Kotoko just few days after joining the Porcupine Warriors. Despite that he was not at post, Maxwell has disclosed that he has been ‘monitoring’ Kotoko games before he even assumed the coaching job position at the Garden City, and he has identified that “the team (Kotoko) is not in good form.”

“Let me be honest with myself and our fans the team is not in the best of forms, I have monitored friendly matches played, yes we win but we need to dominate and do more”, Maxwell told Kumasi based Radio Station Oyerepa FM.

“At this stage, Kotoko should dominate all matches we play whether losing or winning. That’s the level we want to get the team to then we get to winning ways”, he added. “We should be recording 70% -30%, 60%-40% ball possession”, he concluded.

Although Maxwell Konadu has highlighted an honest thought about his current club where they have not been able take absolute control of their friendly games in recent times, he could appreciate the fact that winning games was only the short term best solution to Kotoko’s problem after their shocking elimination from the African Champions League and Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian trainer have a huge work to complete ahead of this Sunday clash against rivals Hearts of Oak in the Presidential Cup final, and the season ahead in general as he face tricky clash against Techiman Eleven Wonders FC in the opener of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League.
