Al Ahly to decide the future of veterans Hossam Ashour, Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Fathi and Walid Soliman

Cairo giants Al Ahly have announced that the club’s committee of football will commence discussions with football’s first team’s four veteran players Hossam Ashour, Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Fathi and Walid Soliman over their future.

The experienced quartet see their contracts with Al Ahly expire at the end of the current 2019/2020 season after serving the club for several years.

Ashour and Ekramy have come all the way from the club’s youth sector towards the first team, though the latter moved abroad to Feyenoord in Dutch Eredivisie then El-Gouna in Egypt before returning to his boyhood club.

Moreover, Fathi and Soliman have also represented the Red Devils for long years since joining the club in 2007 and 2011 respectively.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper had announced his stance and said that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season following a spell stretching back to 2010.

Al Ahly stated through their official website that the committee of football, headed by Mohsen Saleh, will meet with Ashour, Ekramy, Fathi and Soliman in the coming two days to discuss their future.

The committee will hold their first meeting on Thursday with Fathi and Walid Soliman, with a successive meeting on Friday Ekramy and Ashour, both in the presence of director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz and transfer market director Amir Tawfik.
