Mamelodi Sundowns forward Kermit Erasmus reveals ‘trophies’ ambition after debut for Brazilians

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Kermit Erasmus has outlined his ambitions after making his debut for the 2019/20 domestic treble winners.

The Bafana Bafana striker completed a lucrative switch to Masandawana from Cape Town City this month after scoring 14 goals in 27 games across all competitions last season.

As he enters the prime of his career at the age of 30 with the reigning league champions, Erasmus has set himself lofty targets as he looks to fulfill his undoubted potential at Chloorkop.

“For me personally, it’s to stay injury-free. That is the most important thing to me, if I can do that then I am sure we can achieve a lot as a team,” he said after making his debut in their MTN8 defeat this weekend.

“I also came here to win trophies, you know, compete with the best teams on the continent. I also want to break the record of being the top goalscorer by trying to score thirty goals.

“When I look at the quality of players that are around me, the likes of KK, Jali, Mshishi, George, Sirino, I believe that the goal of twenty to thirty goals is achievable, and if I can stay injury-free, then why not?”
