Young African reports rivals Simba FC to Tanzanian Football Federation for tapping Ghanaian striker Bernard Morrison

There a rife of confusion between two Tanzania giants Simba FC and Young Africans after the former trying to sign Young Africans’ striker Bernard Morrison without their prior consent.

Morrison joined Young Africans (YANGA) in beginning of this season after leaving South African side Orlando Pirates in 2018.

The Ghanaian’s goal scoring record in the Premier Soccer League- netting 55 times in 25 PSL fixtures in his two year stay- earned him imminent interest from Simba and YANGA at the end of his last season.

However, YANGA won the race for the former AS Vita Club striker signature, and has now grabbed 4 goals in 7 games in the Vodacom Premier League in Tanzania.

It appears despite signing for YANGA, Morrison is continually tracked by rivals Simba Football Club, and are believed to made the player lucrative offer behind Young African consent.

It has been revealed that Simba in the first place even offered Morrison US$ 5,000 to hijack his move to YANGA. After failing in the initial attempt, Simba are reportedly made another effort to lure Morrison while under contract at Africans.

Morrison revealed the story that, “I got a message from one agent of Simba who said the club wants to sign me so that I can help them in CAF Champions League games next season.

“I told him to send me the offer via my WhatsApp address but he did not and instead, he personally brought it together with 10,000 dollars, which he said was sent by the club’s president saying that if I accept, we should share the amount equally with him.”

In light of Simba’s latest action, YANGA have reported their rivals to the Tanzania Football Federation to take the necessarily action against Simba.

YANGA through Information Officer Hassan Bumbuli having contacted to revealed their expectation about the case they have reported to the TFF, he reckoned that he cannot say much about what the Federation should do to their rivals.

“Since the matter has been taken to the concerned authorities, I cannot say much but rather to let them conduct their work thoroughly while we wait for their final decision,” Bumbuli told Futball Surgery.

In remains unclear whether Morrison’s revelation about Simba is truth and the latter have denied the striker’s claims.

“In his audio clip, Morrison said the money was sent to him by Simba president but at Simba, we do not have a president as such, I do not really understand what he is talking about,” claims Simba FC.
