Al Ahly reach CAF Champions League final after 3-1 win over Wydad Athletic

Al Ahly have booked a place in 2019/2020 CAF Champions League final after registering a 5-1 aggregate score line against Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club de Casablanca.

The Egyptians wrapped a 3-1 victory over the Moroccans on Friday evening in Cairo as Ahly made it two-out-of two in less than a week.

Ahly beat Wydad 2-0 at Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca last week Saturday. Mohamed Magdy and Ali maaloul struck in each half to hand Pitso Mosimane’s side the two goal margin advantage from the semis first leg.

With Ahly playing the second home in Cairo, they manufactured a 3-1 out-classing performance against their North African opponents.

Thanks to Marwan Moshen fifth minute opener that kicked started the Egyptians in their rampant scoring before Hussein El Shahat’s strike later put Ahly 2-0 in front in the first half.

Yasser Ibrahim send Mosimane’s men 3-0 up but Zouhair El Moutaraji scored a consolation when it was 8’ minutes to full time.

Al Ahly reach Champions League final first time since 2018 loss to Esperance de Tunis as they awaits the results of Zamalek and Raja Casablanca to determine their opponents.
