Kosta Papic reveals Hearts of Oak transfer plan as reinforcement eyed ahead of transfer window

Hearts of Oak boss Kosta Papic reveals club’s transfer plans ahead of the winter window that opens next month. Hearts are on course for this season’s Ghana Premier League title, now siting second place on the log with 16 points.

In bid the lift the ultimate that have eluded Hearts since 2009, Papic has hinted that his outfit will sign new players in the upcoming transfer window.

“We are working on that (reinforcements), no doubt about that. It’s not going to be a lot of changes but we are working very hard on that issue to bring new players to the squad, there is no doubt about that,” Papic said in an interview.

“At this moment I cannot give you the list and I also don’t know the names but we are looking for developed ones, there are going to be some new faces, defender, midfielder and striker”, he stated.

A host of names have been linked with a move to Hearts and amongst them are Great Olympics play-maker Gladson Awako who is likely to play against Papic’s side this weekend.

Awako gave Hearts a transfer boost after revealing his affection for the 2004 Caf Confederation Cup champions. “I have always been a Hearts fan. Even when we were in the academy at Goldfields I supported Hearts.

It’s understood that Papic admires the former TP Mazembe star and is on the list of the Serbian International. The performance of Awako against Hearts in the Ghana Premier League this weekend will not affect Hearts’ attempt to sign the versatile man in February.

Foreign players are also penciled down together with Dream FC’s winger Issa Ibrahim who have had a good season so far. In Issah’s pursuit, Hearts could be faced with competition from rivals Asante Kotoko who are also in the mix to battle for the winger’s signature.
