Al Ahly name 22 man squad ahead of their Champions League opener against Etoile du Sahel
Al Ahly have name 22-man squad to make a trip to their opening CAF Champions League group stage game against Etoile Sportive du Sahel on Friday evening.
Etoile and Ahly open group B of the Champions League at Stade Olympique de Sousse after the Tunisian side edging past Ghana’s Asante Kotoko on 3-2 aggregate whiles the Egyptian giants eliminated Cano Sport 6-0 on aggregate in the first round.
Al Ahly would be hoping to make a good start to their CAF Champions group stage campaign as they make a trip to Etoile, and Ahly boss Rene Weiler has named 22 players to make the trip.
The list include experience and first choice keeper Mohamed El-Shennawy together with senior members of Ahmed Fathi, Ramadan Sobhi, Hussein El-Shahat, recent hat-trick man Walid Soliman as well as hard tackling midfielder Aliou Dieng who represented Mali in the U-23 African Nations Cup in Egypt.
