Former Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu wins Nigeria Presidential Elections

Former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu has been declared winner of the 2023 Nigeria Presidential Elections.
After fierce contest in controversial elections, Tinubu becomes the newly elected Nigeria President, a successor of his party member Muhammadu Buhari who has been into presidential office since 2015.
Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaration of Tinubu as winner comes three days after the start of voting in Nigeria.
The Elections started on Saturday 25th February continuing to Sunday for some parts of the country to vote due to inaccuracies the electoral process suffered at the go.
Nigeria’s presidential results shows a huge gab for Tinubu off second place Atiku Abubakar with more than 1.5 million votes.
Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes, Atiku polled 6,984,520 votes and third place Peter Obi who surprisingly won at the Lagos state got 6,101,533 votes.
Obi of the Labour Party got 582,454 votes, just ahead of 572,606 for former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu for the governing All Progressives Congress party, electoral commission data showed on Monday. Lagos was previously Tinubu’s main stronghold.
