Chelsea crush out Liverpool from FA Cup after Blues beat the Reds 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to reach quarter finals

Chelsea crush out Liverpool from the FA Cup after resilient display saw Frank Lampard’s men run away with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Willian netted for Chelsea after a cheap ‘give-away’ from Fabinho. Adrian should have done better to save Liverpool, but the Brazilian’s shot from outside the box was hit with some venom, and the backup keeper couldn’t hold on.

Chelsea led the first half with a 1-0 lead before snatching the second goal on the 65th minute through Ross Barkley.

Van Dijk and Jones conspire to gave the ball away, and Chelsea broke on counter with pace. Gomez didn’t close down Barkley, and the former Everton man struck a thunderous strike from outside the box to beat Adrian.

Moments later, Chelsea should have made it 3-0 when Pedro went through on goal but the Spaniard failed to beat Liverpool keeper Adrian for a third time.

Chelsea are now through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup whilst Liverpool suffer second consecutive loss.
