Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto is confident they’ll be ready for Atletico Madrid in tomorrow’s Champions League opener.
Lazio meet Atletico on the back of defeat to Juventus.
But Alberto said, “We have never had such a complete squad. In past years we were always missing something. We have to stay calm and work. As soon as we win one or two games everything changes, we will have more confidence again.”
Asked what they’re missing, Alberto said: “The ruthlessness in the opponent’s area and in ours. With Juventus we conceded two goals that not even a fifth division team can concede. We need more personality, but we are playing well. Was the ball out? Let’s not talk about the match …”
On Lazio’s new-look midfield, he added: “They are fantastic. (Matteo) Guendouzi’s career says it all, he is a good guy. I like (Daichi) Kamada, he is very intelligent. They will all find more space little by little. For me it doesn’t change much who plays next to me.”
