Arsenal reportedly prepare new £60million bid for Kai Havertz as Chelsea eager to sell

Arsenal have reportedly made a new £60million bid for Kai Havertz.

And the Gunners have offered him a huge contract as Chelsea look to complete a quick sale to their rivals.

Havertz looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer following an initial bid from Real Madrid.

But despite the Spaniards dropping out of the race, Havertz remains keen on a new adventure.

And he is now pushing to join London rivals Arsenal, who have already seen a £50million bid turned down by Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta and Edu see Havertz as the perfect foil to Gabriel Jesus in the final third.

And the Mail claims Arsenal have now submitted a fresh bid worth up to £60m.

It would guarantee Chelsea an immediate £55m for their own transfer kitty, plus an extra £5m in bonuses down the line.

Although only a verbal offer, Arsenal have also demonstrated their seriousness to Havertz by offering him a long-term contract worth £210,000-a-week.

Personal terms are not thought to be a problem after talks “accelerated” at the weekend.

And it now comes down to Chelsea’s side of the table, with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly thought to value Havertz at around £70m.

Despite that, the Blues are believed to be willing to negotiate.

That’s because they need to offload players before July for their end-of-season accounts.
