Everton star Richarlison reveals he rejected a move to Manchester United and Barcelona

Everton striker Richarlison has revealed he rejected a chance to join Manchester United and Barcelona this season.

Manchester United and Barcelona entered into last summer transfer market in search of a striker but after seeing Richarlison as their target, the Everton forward rejected both the Laliga and Premier League outfits.

The 23-year-old joined the Toffees in 2018 from Watford to link up with former manager Marco Silva and has established himself a key player for the Merseyside club.

His form saw him earn a place in the Brazil national team and reportedly caught the eye of United who were in the market for a new striker during the January transfer window prior to signing Odion Ighalo on loan.

Back in December, Silva declared that United were one of many clubs who were interested in signing their star forward.

“I believe it is not just Manchester United,” he said of the interest in Richarlison. “I believe it is some more. As a club we have to keep our best players.”

Now, the forward has claimed United and Barcelona made offers to lure him from Goodison Park. However, he was unwilling to leave his teammates in the middle of the season.

“There were lots of offers during the season, from Barcelona, from Manchester (United),” he revealed to Los Desimpedidos . “But the club opted to keep me in the group and I didn’t want to leave in the middle of the season.

“It’s bad to leave team-mates like this.”

On interest from Barcelona, he added: “Of course you feel impacted, Barcelona is one of the greatest clubs in the world, but I think happiness plays its part as well.”
