Ancelotti delighted with Real Madrid win: Fantastic Bellingham has extraordinary quality

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with the performance of Jude Bellingham in their preseason win against AC Milan today.

Real won 3-2 in Los Angeles after the Rossoneri’s initial 2-0 lead via Fikayo Tomori and Luka Romero goals, was pegged back by two goals from Fede Valverde and one from Vinicius Jr.

Ancelotti was happy with the performance and his new players:

“Brahim has returned well after two seasons in Milan. He has quality, plays well between the lines and is associated with colleagues. He is an option that we have and we can use him during the season.”

The system

“I liked it, although something needs to be modified. It cost us the start from behind. Bellingham has played a good match. We have to get used to his quality, which is extraordinary. The pressure was not always correct, but my feeling is good and we will continue.”

“He is a fantastic player. He is a complete interior with a lot of rhythm. He moves very well without a ball. He is different from the other midfielders we have. He can search for free spaces and this adds something else to this team.”

Team pressure

«”We have to press higher because with the rhombus we have central pressure, but not lateral. You have to press well. At the defensive level it is not the best system, but I have to adapt the characteristics of the players and find a good balance of defence and attack.”

Bellingham as a false nine

“If we play 4-3-3 the reference striker is Rodrygo. We can play with a midpoint that could be Bellingham.”
