Real Madrid considering loan move for Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella

Real Madrid is reportedly considering loan move for Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella in the January transfer. The LaLiga side have penciled down Reece James and Cucurella is the latest star at Stamford Bridge the former European champions are targeting.

Despite Chelsea’s struggles on the pitch, Real Madrid have been linked with quite a few of their players in recent times. Of course, they signed Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from the club in the summer. The rumours linking them with Reece James are nothing new but the ones with Ian Maatsen have popped up recently. And if suggestions are anything to go by, Los Blancos have another one on their radar.

Real Madrid could do with another left-back. Ferland Mendy has struggled with both form and fitness for a while. And some of Fran Garcia’s performances since arriving have raised a lot of questions, especially the recent one against Atletico Madrid.

One interesting name that has been doing the rounds of the rumour mill is Marc Cucurella of Chelsea. The club shelled out a £62 million transfer fee to sign him from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022. He has struggled since arriving at Stamford Bridge. And there have been suggestions that Real Madrid could be eyeing a loan move in January.

There appears to be some pretty good news in that regard. As reported by ESPN, Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Cucurella ahead of a potential January move.

Cucurella has not been anywhere near his best at Chelsea and looked somewhat lost in his debut season with the club. But then, who has impressed for the Blues in recent times?

Cucurella was superb during his time at Brighton & Hove Albion. He also has prior La Liga experience. In fact, he came up through the youth ranks at La Masia.

Let’s see what the future holds for Cucurella. He did play in Chelsea’s recent League Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion. The Spaniard put in a spirited display and it remains to be seen if that gets him back into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans moving forward.
