Mikel Arteta reportedly planning to hold personal talks with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid contract extension

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is planning to hold a personal talk with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is yet to sign a new contract with the club, according to The Telegraph via the Evening Standard.

The Gabon striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Premier League rivals Chelsea one of a number of clubs said to be keeping tabs on his situation.

The Arsenal skipper has just one year left on his current deal, with Arteta reportedly to promise his talisman a young team will be built around him,

Arsenal are reportedly confident Arteta can persuade Aubameyang to stay, though it’s believed he is desperate to play in the Champions League once more.

The Gunners are reportedly yet to offer the forward a new contract- which is likely to follow after Arteta’s meeting.

Chelsea are not the only side monitoring Aubameyang’s situation. The likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Barcelona are all interested in the Arsenal striker.

But Barcelona most knee looking sealing a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, Chelsea and Inter Milan may be favorites to land the African forward if he fails to extend his contract at Arsenal.
