Thomas Partey appears on PSG transfer list as French champions prepare to lure him from Arsenal
Thomas Partey has appeared on the summer transfer list of Paris Saint-Germain after readying to beat Arsenal to the signing of the Ghanaian midfielder.
Partey has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer despite having three more additional years on his Atletico Madrid contract.
It has been revealed by many sources in Spain and England that Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are talking over a possible transfer for the Ghanaian midfielder who, despite the Laliga side’s interest in keeping him for next season, is pushing for a move to the Premier League- where his potentials are known best suit.
It’s understood that the Gunners could reach agreement over Partey’s personnel terms in next few days but may have PSG to beat if they can finally announce a deal for the Atletico Madrid star as the French champions knee strengthening their midfield with the Ghanaian International.
‘RMC Sport’ report claims that PSG sporting director Leonardo Araújo has been keeping a close eye on Partey and is prepared to sign him ahead of Arsenal this summer.
The Black Stars box-to-box midfielder’s move from the Spanish capital though looks possible after a host of interest from European clubs, that Atletico can’t simply overlook this time after years of keeping hold to the midfielder.
However, his move largely depends on Saul Niguez’s future at Wanda Metropolitano. The latter is primarily linked with a move to Manchester United and if the Old Trafford side announce a deal for the Spanish midfielder, Partey is likely to stay at Madrid.
But for the time being, the Laliga outfits are tempted to resist selling Niguez- who the club are preparing for future captain and that may see Atletico cash in on Thomas Partey this summer.
