African stars SALAH and MANE have ‘imperfect relationship’ at Liverpool- revealed

African stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been integral to recent success at Liverpool.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly has a growing problem on his hands regarding the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. When Klopp brought in Salah to partner Mane in attack it appeared to a match made in heaven.

The Senegal international was shifted out to the left wing with Salah out on the right while Roberto Firmino operated as the mastermind for the pair through the middle.

That attacking trident caused defenders havoc as Liverpool built a squad capable of challenging at the top of the table.

A Champions League winners’ medal was soon followed by a Premier League trophy the following season, earning them legendary status among Liverpool supporters.

But there have also been signs along the way that things haven’t always been smooth sailing between Mane and Salah.

Back in August 2019, Mane was left furious when he was brought off by Klopp after Salah opted against playing in his team-mate for what would have been a simple goal against Burnley.

Then in December last year, a similar situation happened in the 7-0 win over Crystal Palace after being taken off for Salah.

Klopp insisted after the game that it had nothing to do with the fact Salah was coming on to take his place, but there has been a growing concern on the relationship between the Liverpool pair.

And, according to The Athletic, it’s a fear shared among some within the club.

It is claimed that Salah and Mane have an ‘imperfect’ relationship with pointed notes that the former ‘hates being substituted’.

The report also points to when Salah was also frustrated with Klopp for not naming him as captain for the Champions League group game against Midtjylland.

There appears to be increased speculation that one of Mane or Salah could be sold this summer.

Stronger reports have indicated that Salah would be the more likely to leave with his agent, Ramy Abbas, doing little to play down speculation.

Abbas hit the headlines earlier this month during Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea when Salah was hauled off by Klopp.

The Egypt international’s agent responded to the substitution with a cryptic tweet including a solitary full stop which appeared to anger many Liverpool fans.

Klopp has repeatedly attempted to play down any issue with either Salah or Mane but it’s becoming more apparent that a decision will have to be made this summer, particularly following what has been a disastrous season so far.

Both Salah and Mane are contracted at Liverpool until 2023 – at which point they will be 31 years of age.
