Simba SC new signing Ghanaian International Augustine Okrah considering nationality switch to Tanzania

Ghanaian international Augustine Okrah is considering switching his nationality to play for Tanzania. That will be one of the good news to happen to Tanzanian football given the wingers huge talent.

The Ghanaian International has already been capped for Black Galaxies (Ghana’s local side) and standing on the way for featuring for the senior national team after receiving a maiden call-up in June.

The 28 year old veteran joined Simba SC- giants from the said East African country after an impressive display with Ghana Premier League side Bechem United last season.

The ex- North East United forward was really unstoppable in his return to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park and once again relaunched himself as the fans favourite in Bechem, having netted 18 goals in all competitions, 14 in the league and 4 in the league cup.
His remarkable performance propelled the Hunters to the FA Cup final and also finished third on the log at the end of the season.
According to Kumasi-based Angel FM, Augustine Okrah and his representatives are still in discussions as to whether the player should switch his nationality to play for Tanzania or not.
The former GPL top scorer was last handed Black Stars call up in June prior to the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic but later pulled out reportedly due to injury.
Okrah has been Ghana local stars best performers in the last four years helping Asante Kotoko and Bechem United in domestic competitions. He helped Kotoko in the 2019-2020 CAF Champions League netting the opener in a 2-0 win over Tunisian side Etoile Sportive de Sahel in first round.
His Africa experience can boost Tanzania’s AFCON chances with the East African country hoping to qualify to the next edition in Ivory Coast.
Tanzania sit third place in Group F- consisting of Algeria, Uganda and Niger- with a point after two games.
