Erling Haaland tips FRANK LAMPARD as one he would have wanted to play with amid future transfer to Chelsea

Erling Braut Haland has identified Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as the one retired that he Halaad would have wanted to play with.

Haaland, 19, has been a new revelation in Europe this season and his early exploit in the competition with Red Bull Salzburg in particular opened the door for many clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich come knocking for his signature.

Manchester United needed a long term replacement for departed Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian International, who scored 42 goals in 96 games before leaving Old Trafford completed a five year deal to Inter Milan in the beginning of this season in what was a club record fee of 80m euros (£74m) transfer for the Italian outfits.

The Reds set sight replacing their former striker with Erling Haaland but the Norwegian International later snubbed Manchester United for Dortmund in the January transfer window, thus when the Signal Iduna club played smart to finally activated Halaand’s €22.5million release clause.

Proven to be natural scorer, Haaland has continued his escalating goal-scoring form at Dortmund, having a total of 10 goals in 8 champions League games (for both Salzburg and Dortmund) to emerge the second most prolific striker in the Champions League this season, just a goal behind leader Robert Lewandowski and four more above third place man Serge Gnabry.

The 19-year old has found back of the net 40 times in 33 games across all competitions for Dortmund and Salzburg this term alone.

He has already attracted interest from potential suitors where Chelsea and Real Madrid have recently been linked with the new Dortmund striker.

In light of this, Chelsea supporters have been handed a good news and encouragement in future Haaland transfer after the 19-year-old forward tips Chelsea manager Frank Lampard as the one that if not for his retirement, Haaland would have wanted to play with.

In quick-fire Q&A with ESPN, Haaland was asked who the one player he’d want to have played with that’s retired and replied: “Frank Lampard.”

In Dortmund alone, his early days in the club has already raised eyebrows in the German Bundesliga, coming on as a sub in his debut game to net a second half hat-trick within 23 minutes in Dortmund’s 5-3 emphatic victory over Augsburg on 18 January 2020.

He has registered a total of 9 goals in 8 Bundesliga games for his new club and been regarded as a future transfer for Real Madrid and Chelsea.
