Chelsea set to announce Kai Havertz transfer within 24 hours as German undergoes medical today

Chelsea are expected to announce the signing of Kai Havertz in the next 24 hours, according to David Ornstein.

The Blues are set to take their summer spending past £200million with the £90million (£72m plus add-ons) signing of Havertz.

He will undergo his medical today before official confirmation of the deal.

Havertz was an unused substitute in Thursday’s friendly between Germany and Spain to avoid the risk of injury scuppering the deal.

He will become Frank Lampard’s seventh summer signing.

Meanwhile, a number of first team players are expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with the likes of Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and N’Golo Kante expected to join Inter Milan.

Antonio Conte knee bringing the French World Cup winner to the Seria A while holding the view that Marcelo Brozovic could leave for the Premier League with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the Croatian star.

Manchester United are also monitoring the situation of Kante despite completing a summer move for former Ajax midfielder Donny van de beek.

The future of Jorginho also remain doubtful but Frank Lampard is willing to keep the midfielder for long, and the sack of Maurizio Sarri from Juve has put a stop to rumours linking the midfielder to Turin.
