Chelsea have, that is before today’s game, twice opened a new Premier League season on Monday with the Blues winning the league in all two occasions.

In 2014/2015 season, Chelsea began the season with emphatic victory over Burnley on Monday at Turf Moor. Thanks to new signing Diego Costa, André Schürrle and Branislav Ivanović who strikes cancelled out Scott Arfield’s 14th minute goal as Jose Mourinho’s ended the game 3-1.

In 2016/2017, Chelsea started the season on Monday 15th August and whipped West Ham United 2-1 at Stamford Bridge before Antonio lifting the title with 93 points from 38 games, 30 wins, 3 draws and 5 defeats.

But to go by this trend, can Chelsea keep the record this season by landing the EPL title for first time since 2016/2017 season.
